Part of a 400 square mile pastoral enterprise running Merino sheep and Shorthorn cattle, Merna Mora was established in 1889 by the Fels family. All accommodation which is associated with the tourist enterprise has been purpose built for visitors.
History of Merna Mora
Merna Mora is a 68 square mile sheep station which runs approx. 3000 sheep. The property has been in the Fels family for 112 years, being first established in 1889. We endeavor to make your stay as pleasant and as comfortable as possible.
There are nine self contained units. The units are one and two bedroomed. All units have their own fully equipped kitchens, living areas and ensuite bathroom.
Kitchens include: gas stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, living area, TV, dining suite, sofa, electric heating and ducted evaporative air-conditioning.
Bedrooms: double bed, donnas, electric blanket (doubles only) spare blanket, pillows and bed spread. Clock radio, bed lights, wardrobes and bedside cabinet.
Two of the 2 bedroom units will accommodate 6 persons.
Visitors can enjoy magnificient sunsets and the area is renowned for stills of movie and advertisement features thus becoming a natural ampitheatre for artists and photographers and nature enthusiasts. Guests are afforded the personal touch with the proprietors living on site and having a wealth of knowledge regarding the natural and social history of the region.
We are very much a sheep and cattle property and welcome some interaction with the day to day running chores and provide an insight into the pastoral industry.
